2. Personal Data

Personal data are all data with which you can be personally identified (compare Art. 4 GDPR).

3. Access Data

We collect the following data (server logfiles) for technical reasons:

  • Browser type and browser version

  • Applicable operating system

  • Referrer URL (previously visited site)

  • Date and time of access

  • Sent data volume

  • Hostname of the accessing computer (IP-access)

  • Time of the server inquiry

  • IP-Address

These data will be collected automatically by our IT systems when visiting the website. The data will be stored for up to 7 days and deleted afterwards. The storage serves for safety reasons in order to pursue abuse and detect fraud. In such a case, the relevant data can be stored until the case is settled.

4. Purpose and Basis of Data Collection

The basis for this collection and storage is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. The server logfiles are used only for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, improvement, stability, functionality and security of the website.

5. Establishing Contact

When contacting us via contact form, the user’s details are stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event that follow-up questions arise only.

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies stored on your computer by your browser. These cookies process certain specific information about you, such as your browser, location data, or IP address.

This processing makes our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure.

7. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

Personal data collected by our company in the course of your visiting our website, will be processed only with your explicit declaration of consent or following to the legal provisions. Hereby the rights of the concerned persons shall be considered according to the current data protection legislation (GDPR). In case of an anonymous use of the website, only the non-personalized use of the page will be stored and help to improve our online offer. A back tracking of these data is not possible.

The legal basis for such processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, insofar as these cookies are used to collect data to initiate or process contractual relationships.

8. Matomo

We use the open source software tool Matomo (formerly PIWIK) from the provider InnoCraft Ltd, 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand, on our website to analyse the surfing behaviour of our users. We use this data to further improve our website and adapt it even more to the needs of our users. The data collected in this way is stored exclusively on our own servers in Germany. No data is passed on to third parties. Matomo does not collect session data without your consent.

Matomo uses cookies. These text files are stored on your computer and enable us to analyse the use of our website. For this purpose, the information on usage obtained by the cookie is transmitted to our server and stored so that usage behaviour can be analysed. Your IP address is an anonymous identifier for us; we have no technical means to identifying you as a registered user. You remain anonymous as a user.

If you agree to web analysis using Matomo, the following data will be collected when you call up individual pages of our website:

(1) an anonymised IP address of the user's calling system

(2) the website accessed

(3) the website from which the user accessed the website (referrer)

(4) the sub-pages accessed from the accessed website

(5) the time spent on the website

(6) the frequency with which the website is accessed.

You can decide here whether a web analysis cookie may be stored in your browser to enable the Federal Press Office to collect and analyse statistical data.

All plug-ins are indicated with the brand names of the respective operators: LinkedIn, Xing, Facebook and Twitter ("Operator"). To increase the level of data protection and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, we have implemented the additional programmes via a ‘2-click solution’. This procedure ensures that when you visit our website, no direct connection of your browser to the servers of the Operators is established. Only if you activate the plug-ins by clicking on them and thereby grant your consent to the data transfer, your browser establishes a direct connection to the server of the respective Operator. The content of the plug-ins is then transmitted by the Operators directly to your browser and integrated by them into the website.

By accepting the plug-in, the Operator receives the information that your browser has accessed our website. If you logged into your account when you visited our website, the Operator can connect your visit to your account directly. 10. Google-Maps

Our website uses Google Maps to display our location and to provide directions. This is a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 (hereinafter: Google).

The following rights according to GDPR versus our company will be applicable concerned your personal data with reference to GDPR:

Right to Request Information about the personal data: According to Art. 15 GDPR, the user may inform himself without charge at the provider of the website, which personal data were stored. The right to information does not apply or in limited form only, if and as far as the information would disclose information underlying confidentiality, for example if the information is subject to a professional secrecy.

12. Reservation of the Right of Modification

We reserve the right to modify data protection measures for security reasons at any time. This applies particularly in case of technical developments in website technology. 13. Application procedure

In the course of handling application procedures in our company, we may collect personal data such as full name, contact information, CV, cover letter and any other information provided in the application. The personal data you provide will be uses for the purpose of processing your job application only. Your personal data will be retained for the duration of the application process. If your application is unsuccessful, we may store your information for a period of two years to consider you for the future openings, unless you request us to delete your data sooner.
